Cheyanne, WY – In a stunning display of strength and elegance, Sgt. Rebecca Bridger, part of the Wyoming Army National Guard’s 67th Army Band, has been crowned Miss Wyoming USA 2023. The event, held on May 13 at the CAM-PLEX Heritage Center Theater in Gillette, saw Bridger transitioning from soldier to beauty queen, winning over not only her fellow servicemen and women but also the entire state of Wyoming.
“I’m overwhelmed with joy and gratitude upon winning the Miss Wyoming USA 2023 title,” said the 27-year-old servicewoman, affectionately known as Beck.
Beck’s charisma on stage and her undeniable talent as a vocalist in the Army Band helped her shine throughout the competition. However, it wasn’t just her musical talents that set her apart. Her dedication to her military duties and commitment to her community were equally admirable.
Her initiative, the Warrior Women Project, is a testament to her efforts towards empowering women entering military service. Prior to winning Miss Wyoming USA 2023, Bridger had the honor of being Miss Wyoming 2018 and also took part in Miss America 2019.
Bridger credits her ability to balance her challenging military training with the demanding preparations required for the pageant to her resolve and the constant support she received from her community.
With her new title as Miss Wyoming USA, Bridger aspires to increase awareness about the significant contributions women have made to the military and the unique challenges they face. She also hopes to motivate young women across the state to chase their dreams, regardless of how big they may seem.
“My life’s purpose is greater than just me; I believe I have been called upon to inspire and uplift women everywhere. I hope my journey kindles a spark in women to strive for their goals, be it in the Army Combat Uniform or donning the Miss Wyoming USA sash and crown,” she expressed.
Bridger’s next challenge is to vie for the title of Miss USA, which will be held later this year in Reno, Nevada.
