QUANTICO, VA – The Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division (Army CID) is offering a $25,000 reward for credible information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the tragic murder of Cadet Joseph Banales. In collaboration with the Selma Police Department (SPD), Army CID is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying potential suspects and witnesses in this case.
On the night of April 15, 2023, around 11:30 p.m., Banales lost his life in a shooting incident while driving his vehicle on IH-35 North, near The Forum at Olympia Parkway in Selma, Texas. The SPD has identified a vehicle of interest that was spotted driving erratically close to the crime scene. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark-colored, possibly blue, Nissan 350Z or 370Z sports car, featuring a loud aftermarket exhaust and possibly a spoiler.
